Website Refurbishment
Tue Sept 19th 13:42:14 EST 2006

To all members of the community, Gisborne SES would like to appologize for the delay in the website relocation, there has been a few technical parts that require a bit more attention to ensure the stability of the final site.

We wont be too much longer!!!We are slowly adding content, but with the paying job getting in the way it will be a little slower than I expected.

If you have any ideas that you think would be of interest to the comunity that you would like to see on the site please contact me directly via email.

Thinking Ahead
Tue Sept 26th 12:22:54 EST 2006

The CFA and SES suggest that property owners installing new CFAwater tanks or adding to current water tanks should add a separate CFA outlet to the tank. This allows them to draw water from the tank in a hurry and may save their property in a major fire.

The other is to ensure that there is sufficient access to the rear of their house for SESemergency services vehicles (like SES and CFA trucks) as this also allows for more effective fighting of fires - either house or scrub/grass.

Also gutter cleaning is a key safety factor, not only does this ensure you will not be at risk from fire starting in the gutters from ember attack, it will also ensure you do not become subjected to flooding from over flowing gutters and down pipes.

Summer is coming
Tue Sept 19th 16:09:21 EST 2006

To all members of the community, Gisborne SES would like to bring your attention to our neighbours website, The Gisborne Country Fire Authority.

The Gisborne CFA are long time freinds of the Gisborne SES Unit, We share a unique Emergency Services Precinct that we also share with the Victirian Police and the Rural Ambulance Victoria.

We have a great working relationship and help each other out whenever we can. Since our site doesnt have much constructive information I suggest as summer is coming you have a good look at thier site and make sure you as a community member of the Macedon ranges are ready for this coming summer.

The Gisborne CFA can be found @ http://www.gisbornecfa.com
